                                                  Assessment FOR Learning:
  • Teachers can make observations and anecdotal notes during the Math Congress
    • 'Look fors' and 'Hear fors' can be discussed or co-created before the Math Congress
    • Teachers can assess students' participation and accountable math talk
    • Teachers can document what strategies students use
    • Teachers can use this information to guide future instruction
  • Students may complete a similar problem as a consolidation of the Math Congress
  • Teachers can plan a related problem or lesson based on areas of need from the discussion
  • Use a math tracking sheet to record what strategies students are using and display this on a math strategy wall
 
                                                    Assessment AS Learning:
 
  • Students may complete self-assessments about their mathematical reasoning and communication, participation, and discussion
